Windows 7: BSOD Help Needed New Computer

01 Sep 2011   #11

Windows 7 Professional X64

I want to clarify. by "Exact" error, I am being specific... down to the detail that the 4 arguments to the 0xD1 error are 0x00, 0x02, 0x08, 0x00 exactly as shown below, and without a specific driver file listed, as is the norm with a 0xD1 BSOD.

For the moment we work around the problem by using DVDFab to decrypt/rip/compress the originals into the ISO file, but then DO NOT use DVDFab for "step 2", i.e. actually writing the physical DVD. Instead, quit out of DVDFab, navigate to wherever it saved the ISO (typically Documents/DVDFab/ISO) then use native Microsoft DVD burning engine to write the ISO out to disk (right-click the ISO file, "open with" and use "Windows Disk Image Burner"). This works perfectly. This tells me that the burning engine within DVDFab is the culprit.

I have since learned that DVDFab bundles the VSO burning engine with their product, and that you can switch this engine to use either the Nero burning engine (not free) or ImgBurn engine (free). We haven't tried this yet. If this works, you could continue to use DVDFab's built in "Step 2" to write the disk, but by changing the burning engine to something else prevent the BSOD.

Good luck!

When trying to copy a movie using DVDFAB, it copys the movie and at the end of copying it ejects the dvd and then i get BSOD, saying Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Stop: 0x000000D1 and so on

attached is system health report and dump file
I had the same problem with the same machine.
Solution..Open dvdfab,Click on the green check top right.Look for writer on the left side, click on it.Scroll to the one that says use DVDFab burning engine.Click ok to restart.
