You should probably upload your dump files and let the BSOD team analyze them.

They can tell you a lot from reading your dump files.
Please post your issue and files here. :)

Hello magliter - I was asked to analyse your .dmp. I hope I can help you.

Your first BSOD was caused by a slnt7554.sys, which I obviously cannot find in different Driver References. My guess is, that it could be from a 3rd part application or so.

    BSOD Summary
    Code:
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for slnt7554.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for slnt7554.sys
    Probably caused by : slnt7554.sys ( slnt7554+d5ac )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------

    0: kd> lmvm slnt7554.sys
    start end module name
This is probably the modem driver you talked about. I cannot even find the path where it's located, because it's like unloaded. Try doing a SFC /SCANNOW. However, the Scannow command is checking for Windows Drivers only.
A scan with Malwarebytes would also be great. You could be infected.

Your 2nd .dmp was caused by the same.

    Best Regards,
    FredeGail

Edit: Now that I read the whole thread, it's making me wonder what to do.

I hardly think its malware, I actually formatted and reinstalled w7 because of this, installing the 56k modem just after a fresh install

I'll post the scannow when I can

    thanks.

Yes, sorry. I noticed right after that it was a modem driver. Quit the Malwarebytes scan, and let's continue the adventurer.
Where did you install the driver? Did Windows installed it, or did you use a DVD?

The IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL also will appear as DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL too.
Many times this is related to memory faults and errors. Since the modem is apparently old(?) maybe a PCI slot modem would be better, but let's see if we can fix yours first.

Download memtest86+ It will need to be burned to a CD or a bootable flash drive. (The DL link is well down the page.) Let it run for at least six passes to test your memory, unless errors pop-up right away.

Since it is USB connected try uninstalling/reinstalling Drivers for the USB devices in Control Panel.

In Control Panel open Devices and Printers with the modem connected. Right click the modem icon, then trouble shoot.

A malware might be working too. Run MalwareBytes and Super Antispyware after doing updates. Do the full scans with each. Link for them in my sig.
    Was this done?:)

Important note: Normally, the slnt7554.sys file should be in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. If it is found anywhere else, then the slnt7554.sys could be a virus, Trojan, worm, or spyware! To protect your PC, it is strongly recommended that you should download and run a full system scan to check whether slnt7554.sys is running properly.

I tried those, all good, metest came out fine no errors

    USB uninstall reinstall too

I installed the drivers via windows update and via cd (setup.exe files)

The CD files provided two devices, voice modem and modem.

The windows update only had the modem device.

So Windows Update listed a driver for the modem? If so, I think it'd be a good idea to install it.

That's what I installed and got the same error mate. It's like any smartlink usb driver, no matter what I do or where I get it from, its crashes when it dials out
