BSODs and general mayhem
I've had this computer for years and replaced and upgraded nearly every part in that time and it's always been plagued with issues, and I've been trying my damnedest to fix them all, sometimes it works, but this latest one has been there for about a year and I'm sick of it so I come to you.
Note: I'm kinda noobish at computers, most of what I have learned has come from having to iron out these kinds of problems with my own machine.
Right now it's a miracle I can even type this, it feels like it's about to freeze and BSOD any second now, I can't access my preferences and homepage and that kind of thing in chrome, and every attempt to access my files or even do a search give me 'Windows explorer has stopped working'. Also tabs are constantly giving me that 'whoops, something went wrong' error.
It's like this every so often, other issues are wrong-coloured pixels, massive drops in speed and randomly restarting. Also it sometimes turns itself on right after I turn it off.
I know this is a hardware issue and not with windows, but I really don't know where else to turn.
The main problem, however, is the BSODs. When they do happen it's usually within about 10 seconds of the start of booting windows, however sometimes, like now, I can sail right into windows, albiet buggy and go on for a few hours before a BSOD. The two main ones I've had are:
'MEMORY_MANAGEMENT' and 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA'.
I've tried numerous and expensive solutions and non have worked, some solutions have a habit of solving the problem for a random amount of time before they set in again. One time it was fine for around 3 months, and a recent driver update gave me plain sailing for about 2 days before it set in again.
If you want me to check anything or do anything I'll need step-by-step advice, 'cos I am not 100% tech savvy, and even if I know what I'm doing I'd be too worried about buggering something up.
All my drivers are up to date according to the windows automatic updater, and all but two are according to driveragent.
I'd get you system specs, but as I said I can't access anything, I'll post them in a reply if needed.
