Win 7 start-up problems following a forced shutdown

Following a software crash (Paragon Drive Backup 9 Pro) on VAIO VPCF 22C5E I
had to resort to a forced shutdown.
Now on every start-up I get the following message after the VAIO logo:

Drive 0: primary 01 win vista/2008 NTFS System Res
    primary 02 linux NTFS
Insert startup disk in floppy drive and press F2 to run setup

Pressing enter at this point allows the boot-up process to continue
    normally!!
Any feedback on this will be much appreciated.

    Hello and welcome to SF!
Could you please try to reset basic W7 stuff:
Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
    SFC /SCANNOW

Read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Hi MvdB

    Thanks for reply.
    Ran SFC, no problems reported.
Also ran Start-up Repair, again no problems reported.

I get the feeling that this may be a BIOS related problem, as the message appears before boot-up starts.
    What do you think?

    Regards.

Well, I would not think BIOS but whatever multibooter you (or someone) used to let you choose a W7 or a Linux boot. Do /did you have such a thing going or is the linux message a mistake?

A new system and you did not install multi boot yourself? Looks like you got a repaired "new system" and someone forgot to clean the linux...
I'd go back to the shop under warranty.
