BSOD 5 minutes after startup
Constant BSOD every time I start up in normal mode. Safe mode works fine. Problem originally occurred after a webpage I was viewing rerouted me to some junk page (Firefox, had NoScript turned off for some reason). MS Security Essentials went haywire. Firefox still opens new tabs to junk sites occasionally. Several virus/malware scans have turned up nothing, someone at another forum told me it was a rootkit.
Gateway E-295C, bought a little over 4 years ago.
Originally XP, updated to 7 Enterprise through school maybe 1.5years ago.
I'm posting this from another computer. Because the BSOD occurs so soon after startup it is difficult for me to do anything with it in normal mode. I ran the jcgriff BSOD exe in safe mode. I haven't been able to run the perfmon/report in safe mode and I get the BSOD before it completes in normal mode. There are going to be a million dump files in this thing because I've been constantly rebooting over and over again. I'll attach a ZIP of the jcgriff to the next post, which will be from the infected computer. Thanks.
EDIT: Should mention several different malware scans have turned up nothing, including MS Sec Essentials, MBAM, and SAS.
