BSOD Random last couple of days

Another Page fault in non page area blue screen. I've had all hardware installed for many months with no issues. Granted the computer is 5 years old.. you never know.

Can't really explain why this is going on the last couple of days. Using InDesign, have Outlook open along with Firefox. Don't really know. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Attached are the logs etc.

Hello Djjeesh66, welcome to SF!

I'm missing some of the files in the upload, mainly msinfo32...

But, your last two dumps are clear: bugcheck 124:

Quote:
Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
As you can see in the link provided, some of the steps are a bit technical. No idea how much technical stuff you are comfortable with.... so please only try things you really understand.
This is a hardware issue somewhere, we can help with tests to identify... but the thing is 5 yrs old... don't be surprised if you have some trouble there....

Hi djjeesch66 and welcome to SF!
I inspected your dumps and all seem to point towards either faulty RAM or unreliably working/defective RAM Slots.
What I would do first: Reseat all RAM Sticks (clean the contacts with a cloth and some rubbing alcohol in the process)
That might take care of any oxydation issues your aged machine might experience.
If that doesn't solve your problems use this tut to determine which Module or slot is causing this:

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

(best to test only one Stick at a time...Make sure you ground yourself before touching the RAMS)

-DG

EDIT: ooops too slow

Thanks for the reply.. i'm guessing too it's something with RAM. Since you brought that up I remember noticing something the other day where one of my RAM sticks looked liked it wasn't quite in tight so i just gave it an extra nudge anyways (but it had been reading it anyways). .. maybe this extra nudge caused some issues. I haven't had any bsod in the last day or so. If i get another i'll swap the two pairs around.

Thanks for your help and hopefully it's something with the ram.

Strange timing too .. just built my new i5 hackintosh computer less than a week ago and now i get bluescreens on this one. It's like the pissed off little boy who found out he's getting a little brother.

lol...it's funny how that sometimes looks like the comp acts jealous towards any "newcomers"

my money is on oxidation due to time and perhaps high humidity. A re-seat doesn't cost anything and fixed a lot of problems in my time as a techie
You're very welcome, please keep us posted
