    It seems software related still.
The sad thing is I really have no way of knowing exactly what software as I don't have access to your machine personally.

What did you say you were using as antivirus/firewall?
And would you be open to removing that temporarily for troubleshooting purposes.
Something is interfering with both your network setup and the group policies about the only things I can think of that would be doing that are security software or viral in nature.

My preference for virus scanning is just to use the free version of this.
Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a free download that removes viruses and malware from your computer

There honestly are some people that are better at tracing this specific type of error around here than I am.
I don't know why none of them have hopped in with their two cents.

Hey, I installed Malwarebytes and ran a "quick scan" which pulled up a bit of Adware etc but after rebooting it still took a good 10 mins to boot again (hanging on the black screen with a cursor before reaching the login page).

I've been getting some odd messages though, each time I startup. This morning after logging in before I reached the desktop I received an error box saying "

    "c:/windows/system32/wshom.ocx.

Unable to register the DLL/OCX: Regsvr32 failed with the exit code 0x5"

Any ideas? I did a Google search but it didn't throw up anything of much use.

Also I keep getting a popup balloon when the desktop loads up saying:

"Failed to connect to a Windows service.
Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This problem prevents standard users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service did not respond"

Things just seem to be getting worse!

    Hi guys,

still struggling, anyone got any ideas?

Everytime i check event viewer, a different service or process seems to be hanging on startup. Should I just reformat windows?

    Thanks

Well since no one else has chimed in, I guess I will say this much at least.
A repair install is quicker and easier than a full install and does not require you to backup everything first.
