    help reading dump files

Hi all, my friends comp keeps bsoding and i was able to get him to send me the dump files (7 of them) through email. Now my problem is that i cant open it. I tried installing windows sdk on my comp to read it but it keeps failing the install. So i was wondering if i place those dump files on to my comp and send it to you will that work? I followed the instructions that you have on here on how to send the dump files.

My questions is first if i do that then run the perfmon /report will it take my info of my comp? I dont have problems on my comp its her comp that has problems will you still be able to read the dump files properly? or is there another way to post the dump files?

I would have her do it herself but she is not computer savy at all.

Take all the dump files and put them into a zip and then upload that zip here and we can take a look

All the crashes are the same. They are STOP 0x116 which is a video card crash

    STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting

First thing your friend needs to do is update to Service Pack 1 - Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

    Code:
    nvlddmkm.sys Sat May 21 00:07:04 2011 (4DD73A68)
Update your video card drivers - Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Also, check to make sure the video card is seated properly and that there is no dust built up on the fan.

Ok just a little up date

So far I had her do this:
1st: uninstalled and re-installed the latest video drivers version 280.26 latest one
2nd: then ran check disk to make sure her hd was ok
3rd: removed one vid card and ran comp with just one card then took that one off as it still did it and ran the other card and still the same problem.
4th: Re-installed operating system (fresh install) with service pack 1. Now that worked for a while until she installed the video driver then it all started bsoding. She can now at least log into the windows but after 5 minutes it BSOD.
5th: I had her update the BIOS to the latest one (F5) it was at (F4)

I had her set everything back to default so nothing is overclocked at all.

    Here are the system specs.

    PSU: Corsair HX1000

    CPU: Intel Core i7-2600k Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7-B3 with F5 Bios

Video Card: MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawk (two of them in SLI both at 16x)

    Memory Card: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM 1600 (PC3-12800) Model F3-12800cl7D

Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro 7.1 channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express

Hard Drive: 1: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0GB/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (for Operating System)
2: Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cashe SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (for data storage)

Cooling System: Custom Liquid Cooled 120 x 3 radiator for cpu only and touch screen fan controller from Lamptron

Operating System: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I had her run memtest86 just to make sure her memory cards are ok and ran 10 passes with no errors. Took a long time but at least it narrows it down and the memory sticks are ok.

I did some looking around and member from another forum showed me on the nvidia forums that there are alot of people with issues with gtx 560 ti looks like. Now im thinking that the cards themselves are the problem.

They could be. Do you have access to another video card that you can try in the computer?
