System crashes after "Starting Windows" screen... Help...

    Post us the MSINFO32 File

    MSINFO32:
    Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

    Completely uninstall Avast including the "self protection".

    Install and use Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). Link in my sig.

    To remove avast:
    http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe
