Windows 7: System Freezing, Instability. New Build W7 x64

System Freezing, Instability. New Build W7 x64

I built a new computer setup and have been having frequent crashing, hanging and freezing problems. At one point I had the odd BSOD but as of late no BSOD's just freezing up. I have attempted full reinstall of the OS, checked all updates, drivers, firmwares, bios setttings etc and still am plagued by this very frequent problem. Have also tried installing and uninstalling SP1 and the recently released MS hotfix for freezing issues with no improvement.

Built this system spring 2011:
Asus P8P67 Rev 3.0 B3 mobo
Intel Core i5 2500K
Patriot Division 2 DDR3 8GB 1600MHz EL
Intel 510 120GB SSD (os)
Seagate 1TB (data)
WD black 1TB (data)
Hitachi 2TB Deskstar (data)
Radeon HD6870 Turbo 1GB
Corsair 850watt PSU
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
Antec P183 v3 case

Not sure what else I need to include that may be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help with this issue.

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

As the problem is likely to be hardware related you could try a process of elimination by removing your graphics card and all your RAM except one stick.

You can download MemTest 86 to check each stick of RAM in turn: Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

If your RAM is OK, you can put your graphics card back and if you haven't found anything untoward you may have a problem with your motherboard or power supply.

As an aside, have you tried running your computer in Safe Mode? If it doesn't freeze it would point to a driver problem.

will upload the new dump files.

Thanks for the prompt replies!

seavixen I ran memtest last night for roughly 5 hours and no issues. never really operated in safe mode for prolonged period of time, but when i have been in safe no freezing. seems to point ot drivers

maguscreed I'll check that out and update right away on results

Alright let's think like a troubleshooter for a moment here.
HIDCLASS.SYS is the windows human interface Device library.

Human interface devices include but are not limited to mice and keyboards.
Since the core windows file itself can't be considered at fault unless it's corrupt.
We should start looking at any input devices you have and possible updates available for them.
...and just in case it is corrupt here is a quick simple way to verify your core windows files.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

ran sfc /scannow as admin. no issues found.

using a ms wireless mouse 5000 and ms wireless keyboard 3000 v2.0.

only input devices I have hooked up... at least that I'm aware of. will uninstall and reinstall these components.

Well that's just confusing...

Sorry I'm rushed today so I'm not doing as thorough a job as I maybe should be with these crashes.

What are you using the atheros bluetooth for? I can track it to manufacturer but I can't track it to a specific model. Whatever it is it seems to be loading a massive number of support drivers for itself on your system, around 10, which is just ridiculous.

Also remove AVG temporarily, you can stop using driver verifier now, I have the feeling it's going to keep spitting that same error for the moment.

If it's not the atheros bluetooth the next candidate I see here is the ultramon utility you are using.

Finally something that's hard for us to track now but may also explain your problem.
Are you using any software that includes a virtual drive i.e. Daemon tools, Alcohol 120, or any other drive emulator?

Finally iastor.sys or the intel rapid storage driver seems to be hanging. This could mean nothing, this could mean it's still not installed properly.
This http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...eng&iid=dc_rss
Is the latest driver for that.
