    Bsod

    -Win 7 x64 ultimate
    -Full retail
-besides the video card and SSD it is about 3 years old. Video card is about 4-5 months old and the SSD I just installed

Alright here is what is going on. I just got ocz 120gig vertex 3 SSD and decided to do a fresh OS install on it. However; I am getting this random BSOD since I've started using the SSD. I have attached a screenshot of the blue screen. Now I know you guys want to look at the dump file, but for some reason windows is not saving a dump file. I have go through the instructions on how to save the dump files, but they are not being saved. I've also checked the event viewer for errors and the only one that pops up is the 41 Kernel-power error.

With the photo attached does anyone have an idea what is causing my blue screens?

EDIT: forgot to mention I already ran several SSD health checks and the ssd has passed them. I have yet to do memtest86. Is it possible that the RAM is the issue?

    Hello,

I suspect that the SSD is defective, a known issue with some of the OCZ Vortex 3 drives. I suggest you RMA or return the drive and purchase one of a different model.

Alright well since I have been wanting to get another SSD I went out and got an intel SSD. Just finished doing a fresh win 7 install and going to try it out. I made a ticket with OCZ and I am going to try to get a replacement for my vertex 3. Probably going to have to wait for a firmware update for the vertex 3 :S I'll come back to the forums within the week to inform the forum of what the status is on my BSoD. Sooner if for some reason I end up getting another BSoD. Thanks Jonathan for your reply.

Here is a quick update on my situation. Since I added the intel SSD i haven't had a single crash. However; while talking to an OCZ rep when I wanted to RMA my vertex 3 he told me to try using MS ahci controllers instead of having intel run the ahci controllers. If that didn't work then they would replace it. So I took out my intel SSD and put my vertex 3 back in and I changed ahci controller from intel to MS. Been running on my vertex 3 for about 4 hours and haven't had a crash. Too early to tell if it is working, but it it might be a solution that people need to be informed of.

not only do I want to solve this myself, but I want others to know about it if it is what can solve this vertex 3 issue.

Two weeks later and my system is running perfectly fine! Vertex 3 was the issue.
