BSOD turning on laptop BAD_POOL_CALLER 0x000000C2

My kid just started college and using a wired LAN connection. Had to update laptop with Sophos AV, along with Firefox, and register to local university website to access. About same time, now getting frequent BSOD when turning on laptop that is now plugged in to wired LAN. Does not happen 100% of the time and can power off and reboot and not get BSOD. I am guessing related to network card driver, but wanted to get some help diagnosing. Can you help me out? Thank you. I could not get the System Health Report, but did run the BSOD Dump & System File Collection app.

    Hello Bpproct, welcome to SF!

The dump (all your dumps) blames fp.sys. Now that's one I haven't seen in a long time and, actually, never on a W7 system. I'm not sure if it is the same one but I'd suspect this is a old system that I recognize from the DOS age where it was used to to do something with drive letters / partition names to readonly disk partitions or something like that...
Anyway, I digress... the dump blames it here so I hope you recognize it and (maybe just as a test to (dis)prove my memory... delete/de-install the drivers corresponding software...

You've also had, or still have, problems with Windows Update:
You also have some problems with Windows Update
Please go to your Maintenance Center and check the Windows Update status. Make sure you are up to date, do them one by one manually if needed.
