    Random BSOD's all the time

    Hi,

I've been getting theese random BSOD's after I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on my computer. They happen while gaming, sometimes while using the internet and pretty usually while running a virus scan with Norton 360.

    My system specs:

    CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.60 GHz
    Motherboard: Asus M2N68 PLUS
    RAM: A-Data 2x2GB DDR2 800 MHz Kit
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB
Video Card: Club 3D Radeon HD4980

OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Full retail. Before it I had Windows XP OEM. I installed Windows 7 in March 2011. My computer is around three years old.

PS. I included the BSOD dump & system file collecting app and my system health report as an attachment.

    Hello Tomppeli153, welcome to SF!

That is a lot of dumps!
Why is your system date on sept 1st already? For some app's or systems... pushing the date ahead can cause problems.

1-ASACPI.SYS a major cause of BSOD's in the 2005 rev.

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
    Please visit this link: http://support.asus.com/download/dow...ge=en-us&os=30
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
    Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

I also suspect this driver DlinkUDSTcpB
Check for newest here: D-Link - Home & Home Office

A lot of your older dumps show problems with your graphics drivers:
    Renew: ati driver

Be sure to fully delete old:
When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Driver Sweeper

Driver Sweeper is a fast tool to remove driver leftovers from your system. It's very important to remove your drivers on a proper way, because driver leftovers can cause problems like stability and startup problems. You can use it if you want to update/remove drivers from your system.

    How to use ?

There are two methods to use Driver Sweeper.
Both methods achieve the same results. This method is always able to clean all files.

This method will delete remaining files upon reboot (if deleting failed). You can clean your drivers this way:

    - Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
    - Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.
    - Run Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
    - Analyse lists all the entries possible to remove, cleaning removes the entries selected.
    - More drivers can be selected for the same cleaning process.

What can it be used for ?
The current supported drivers are NVIDIA (Display and Chipset), ATI (Display), Creative (Sound) Realtek (Sound), Ageia (PhysX) and Microsoft (Mouse).

    Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper
When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy, from the manufacturers' site if possible.

    Thanks for your reply, MvdB.

Firstly, my system was on september already, because I checked the calendar wrongly and changed the date of my computer.

Secondly, I updated the ASACPI driver. It's now the 2009 version.
Then, could you please tell me, what driver do I have to download for the DlinkUDSTcpB? And do I have to download something for uninstalling the ATi video drivers and if I do have to, from where?

And by the way, my D-Link router is DIR-825. Hope it helps.

Use normal de-install for ATI first and then finish by using Driver sweeper as explained in the previous post.

For the D-Link, it takes some searching but they provide a fix for known W7 problems here: D-Link Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router

    Hi, again.

I installed the Ati and D-Link drivers, but I'm still getting BSODs. And now, while I play some games (like GTA), my computer sometimes just suddenly turns off, without any warning or error screen. I ran the Dump collecting app another time and re-zipped it with a new system health report and added it as an attachment to this post.

Assuming that the last dump of aug 30st is the correct one/date... that is still a graphics related dump. The directx drivers... Are you sure you did a full de-install, including using driver sweeper?

This dump still has possible problems with this Dlink driver too: DlinkUDSTcpB

Maybe the best thing is to first try to update DirectX straight from Microsoft. The if that does not help.... we'll do graphics card testing as it might turn out to be the card itself...

I'm pretty sure that I did fully uninstall the ati drivers and used the driver sweeper, like your instructions said, before installing the latest ati drivers correctly. Also I did think, that would it be possible, that the D-Link problem is caused by SharePort USB utility. It is a downloadable software by D-Link, that allows the user to for example print wirelessly, using the internet, if the printer is connected to the router. But I think I don't need it anymore, because I moved the place of my computer, so I can use the wired connection, so I'll uninstall it, if the problems can be caused by it.

Also, where to download the DirectX drivers?

Ok. So I tried to install the DirectX, but it said when I tried to install, that I already have a newer or equivalent version of DirectX.
