DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD while browsing, listening to music

    Hello!

About two hours ago I got a BSOD while browsing with Chrome and listening to music (foobar2000). I had a Thunderbird, TweetDeck, Skype, uTorrent, Speedfan, Rainmeter and probably some more stuff running in the background. My antivirus software is Microsoft Security Essentials. Roughly a week ago I had another BSOD with about the same programs running and I think the error was the same. I'm using a Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM which was installed about 2 weeks ago.

Also, sometimes when I unplug my mouse from the USB the screen becomes black for a couple of seconds (I believe dwm.exe restarts for some reason) and then returns to normal. Could it be the mouse or a driver?

    System specs:
    i5-480m
    8GB RAM
    640GB Toshiba
GF GT420m + Integrated Intel GPU (NVidia Optimus)

I'm not 100% completely sure but the BSOD is from your networking adapter update the drivers and don't try to connect to too many connections at once this can cause this to happen especially with uttorent when not configured correctly.

Not much, at least for today. I've never had such problems when using the older version of utorrent even with much more network load. Anyway, thanks, I'll change the settings, update the driver and see what happens. Could anyone please confirm that the problem is from the network adapter/driver?

yes seth500 is right windows debugger blames
    BugCheck D1, {3fff8, 2, 1, fffff8800148e815}

    Probably caused by : fwpkclnt.sys
which is a Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System driver. This driver failing is linked to thousands of cases in which a Check Point Software Technologies product is installed , I have seen this lots of times with Zone Alarm although your normal bugcheck would be 0x50 not a d1.

With all that said the first place to look is your Broadcom wireless network driver
    bcmwl664.sys fffff880`042dd000 fffff880`045b8000 0x002db000 0x4a8f3924 22/08/2009 01:17:40
where the latest version on the acer support site is a few months younger than yours dated
    bcmwl664.sys 25/12/2009 02:40
I also notice you installed ASC from IOBIT on 25th Aug 2011 but the service is stopped and your running MSC , I would strongly recommend fully unninstalling IOBIT ?

you could also try fully unninstalling uTorrent then do a fresh install of the latest version and then testing for a bluescreen ?

annoying as it can be I also suggest turning UAC back on now you have everything installed ?

I run ASC at least once a month to fix registry and clean up junk files, and I disabled the service believing windows will start up a wee bit faster (even though I rarely shut it down) with less processes/services. Also, about the UAC, I install/uninstall stuff frequently so I keep it turned off.

Thanks a lot for the detailed post and advice! I'll update the driver and torrent client and run some tests. If I encounter another blue screen, I'll bump this thread and post the dump files again.

    Good night!
