Need some direction: BSOD during wake

I've seen quite a few posts on here about this issue. I am having the same and have since I built this computer. In fact, the night I built it, it had minimal drivers and no software installed. I put the computer to sleep and it crashed on wake.

Since then, I've installed all my software and have even changed graphics cards (GeForce 8800 GTS to GeForce GTX550 Ti). I've updated drivers each time a new one came out and none have fixed the problem. It sill crashes on wake without fail.

I assume there is a log file stored somewhere I could upload that may help you guys see what the problem is. Is that the first step here?

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Your logs also show problems on a device:

You also have some problems with Windows Update

Please go to your Maintenance Center and check the Windows Update status. Make sure you are up to date, do them one by one manually if needed.

The dumps also show problems with Norton drivers.... This could be an issue but is not 100% clear.

As you have so many things going on... PLEASE do one thing at a time and test well... before doing the next thing, else you'll never know what the real problem was.

I would first de-install Norton and replace (as a test only) by AVAST! or MSE

Then reboot.
Sometimes these uninstallers do not remove all they should out of Registry:
Run CCleaner, both regular and registry.

Next install your preferred AV immediately.

Next, after testing, check you HDD:

The USB device problem needs to be fixed asap. Not good to have a know Devices problem.

Thanks for the help on this!

I'd like to post a few results as well as make a few points.

First, this computer would crash after sleep right after it was built. No antivirus software, or any other software was installed. I will still remove Norton to check, but I'm doubing that will be the issue.

The missing driver appears to be a USB video device driver. It states that it is not installed. I have no idea what this is so I'm thinking it's somehting I may have had plugged in at one point I no longer use. Also, I used the driver program you recommended. I let it scan and then I updated one of the drivers it said was out of date. After the update, I had it scan again and it still says it is out of date. I even updated with the exact version it said was the newest. I'm not sure how much I trust that program to give them 30 bucks for it.

I reset windows update per your instructions. I also installed two updates.

THe next thing to check is HDDs. I'm the most concerned about this situation. This computer has two SATA drives (Maxtor and Western Digital) and two SCSI drives (Seagate and Fujitsu). I am unable to find a suitable testing utility for the SCSI drives. Can you offer a suggestion on this?

Finding detailed specs wasn't too hard, but I posted a link for each so you wouldn't have to search. I hope this is what you're looking for.

I'll test the two SATA drives with their correct apps.

FYI, I ran the correct tests on the two SATA drives and both "passed" according to the results. Didn't really give any other info other than that.

Seagate passed it's test.

The App you gave me for the Fujitsu drive appears to be for a 32 bit operating system only. The site says it requires an ASPI32 driver to be installed. Looking that download up shows to only be for 32 bit operating systems. I went ahead and used the Seagate test on it and it too passed.

That is good news.
About the usb device driver, as you could not find a compatible driver, did you disable the device in your Devices screen?
+ have you been testing and is your system more stable? If you still get bsods, please upload again...sometimes it takes a round or two to narrow it down to the real problem.

The USB device driver appears to be for a Logitech webcam. That's interesting as I've never had one plugged into this computer. It doesn't show in the device manager so I can't disable it.

However, I have some interesting info to share. I did find an out of date drive controller for the motherboard. The new driver does mention blue screen errors with SCSI host adapters. After I updated the driver, I still got a BSOD, but it took longer and it appeared to be a different error code. I decided to test again.

On the second test, I didn't get a BSOD, but instead got several error messages on wake at I had to click to close. After that, the computer simply rebooted.

I think we may on to something. I've attached a new set of logs. Maybe they will tell you something new.
