BSOD with both uTorrent and Vuse

Hey All, bear with me as I both a forum and computer novice.

I ran uTorrent for a week or so (about 20 total downloads) with no problems. Over the past 4 days I've been getting constant BSOD with the reference "IRQL_EQUAL_NOT_LESS_THAN" i removed uTorrent and proceded with Vuse with the same result. It appears to happen whether I have many torrents or just 1.

i am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a ethernet cord through a cable broadband modem, Ambit brand. I have checked to make sure all drivers are current. I purchased the laptop used, wiped it clean and then had it upgraded to 4GB ram. I have not installed any other software other than ad-aware free. The computer seems to work flawlessly otherwise.

I have read about these issues all over the net and cannot seem to find a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a novice but I'm pretty patient and willing to try anything. I have attached the BSOD Collection and system health report.

Easy. These were Related to Rt64win7.sys 8101E/8168/8169 NDIS 6.20 64-bit Driver from Realtek Corporation. I would re-install the newest available


How To Find Drivers:

- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

I proceeded to Realtek's site and here I'm stuck.

Under the DOWNLOAD TAB I clicked "Communications Network ICs" followed by "Network Interface Controllers"
My next sub-menu provides me with the following choices: "10/100/1000M Gigabet Ethernet" "10/100M Fast Ethernet" or "10M Ethernet" I am not sure which to pick.

The first choice gives me a selection of "PCI" or "PCI Express"
The second gives me those and "USB 1.1"
The final takes me directly to a sub-menu that displays a choice between "Data Sheets" "Reference Designs" or "Software"

Based on the common drivers link (Realtek) I followed the "10/100/1000M" menu through "PCI Express" and the "Software" tab. I am now given a list of choices (Realtek) and am not sure which one to download.

I apologize for the long reply and my ignorance but appreciate the help.

When you use a torrent you open your computer to many bad things.

No more so than by browsing the web. Torrents as such are perfectly safe, it depends on what you're downloading of course.
On a side note, torrent clients do tend to stress network interface drivers because they open hundreds of TCP connections to peers all over the globe, much more than your typical web browser or other online application. Some drivers don't deal well with it; a good workaround is to limit the global number of maximum connections in your torrent client to 150-200 or even less.
