| | acer aspire 5742 - kernel-power Event ID 41 (63) on battery Two months old acer aspire 5742 laptop - intel Core i3-380M - intel HD graqphics 15.6 HD LED LCD - 3GB DDR3 - WDC 320GB Hdd - Win 7 Home Premium x64 6Cell Li-ion battery. Configured this laptiop two months ago for a friend, and ever since has suffered from power out crashes showing in event log as in title. Crashes can corrupt the next boot which shows "ME FW UPDATE FAILED" error message. System seem to run ok on mains power, but regularly crashes on battery power within a few minutes. That said, have had occasional similar crashes on mains power. Have used system restore to recover PC, and run disk check and defragmentation whikle on mains power. Have also run Memtest 24 iterations and clean. Could you plkease look at the the attached analyses, and guide us as to whether this is likely to be hardware fault e.g. overheating or a driver/software conflict. Even better - a solution.....
