BSOD then Bootmgr missing
So I have been reading this forum since yesterday trying to find a thread that could help me solve this problem and I got nothing so I need some help.
So yesterday I shut my box down and then when I went to turn it back on and I got a BSOD but I didn't take note of what it said. I restarted again and was greeted by the "bootmgr is missing press crtl+alt+delete". I looked that up and many different places mentioned that win 7 got corrupted somehow. So i tried running win 7 repair boot from my USB flash drive which I keep win 7 on for just such a case. The repair tool could not find my ssd. So then I went into the bios and looked around and both the BIOS and POST see the ssd. I tired changing the sata port from sata 3 in IDE to the other 4 sata 2 IDE ports on the MOBO and it changed the error message to "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". From what I can tell that is the same error message but less specific. I changed the ssd back to the Sata 3 port on IDE and it had also changed to the disk boot failure message.
I read that many people recommended running win 7 repair boot multiple times so I did (from my USB) that again this morning and it did something different. It ran for less than 5 seconds and then said it needed to restart. I let it and when it came back it gave me this lovely message.
Start:
Windows Boot Manager
Window failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer
2. Choose your language settings, and then click next
3. Click repair your computer
If you do not have the disc contact your system admin or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File: \Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc0000098
Info: The Windows Boot Configuration Data file does not contain a vaild OS entry
END
If I hit exit then it just restarts and comes back to this page and if I hit enter it again restarts and comes back to this page. If I remove my USB and let it boot then it goes back to the Disk Boot failure message. I thought that maybe my USB win 7 file got corrupted so I downloading that again and gonna see if that helps. But I need some expert help here.
