    hey everyone
so my daughters computer..she got a virus or something that made her have to specify "open with" I used the acer recovery system and had it revert to a date a couple of weeks ago seemed great. it was online and everything seemed fine i then...downloaded spybot search and repair...took hours then had a result screen wich quickly turned of..then a flash of blue screen to quick to read..then to a black screen with flashing cursor NOT moveable...this now happens during start up and wont budge..i can get into the bios info using F2..tried restoring settings..nothing..changed boot drive to an external dvd drive installing recovery disks twice to no avail.....sorry its an acer aspire one netbook runing windows 7

Hi michelletaylor, welcome to SevenForums ! :)
This might seem silly but I have exactly the same problem with my laptop. I'm stuck at the page right after the manufacturer logo, the white line blinking page. One thing you can try is see if everything is alright in the BIOS settings by pressing F2 in the first page. You can also try pressing F12 or the key to access the boot options. Try to run a diagnostic scan. If it asks for an extended scan, say yes, it should take about 1h to complete and this might find problems. You can also try pressing F8 to access different options to boot your computer (like safe mode), but for me, it doesn't work. I would like to help you more but I have the same problem. Hope you'll be able to make it work and have a nice day. :) MrDub
