BSOD & system hanging

for the last few weeks the system keeps hanging and crashing. Cleaned it up by removing all unused programs and disabled services. System is virus free. Sometimes it BSODs, sometimes it keeps hanging.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? ->32bit
- the original installed OS on the system? -> came with Vista
and purchased full retail version of 7, installed as upgrade

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 4 years
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) about 1 year ago

thanks in advance!

UWE HI and welcome

The OS may be a year ago but you have a critical driver from 1999. That cant possibly work in win 7

Related to Aspi32.sys Generic drivers. See the link.

How To Find Drivers:
Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

I am unsure what OS you upgraded from but the below drivers ALL need updating.
Code:

thank you

thanks for all the recommendations.
I did update and disable some drivers.
Looks like I'm having a hard time with iaStor.sys and e1e6032.sys - Intel doesn't seem to have windows 7 drivers for those.

is there a way to find out if my BSODs are related specifically to those?

thanks

You can use earlier versions of the drivers if you install them in compatibility mode.

(right click the installer>properties>compatibility>chose OS)
