Windows 7: Cannot change premissions on Maxtor One Touch 4 external

Well spent all day yesterday with a microsoft tech support just to get the system stable from going back to startup repair. Six days ago my computer crashed and ultimately had to do a system restore to factory default.



Now im dealing with my premissions on my external which is a Maxtor One touch 4. After speaking with maxtor seagate people they told me to find help here. So, i have tried to reset the owner as me on security from properties. But no help, it won't allow me to rename, move or access files in my paintshop pro.

Furthermore, i keep receiving virus alerts for a trojan.gen i have tried norton, malware bytes, super anti-spyware. Went into safe mode last night to see if that make a difference and it hasn't norton still comes up with the alert.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
