Over 300 registry errors reported after fresh installation!!!

Wow. I have performed a fresh (oem) install of Windows 7 home premium twice and immediately afterword then install and run Registry Mechanic ver. 8 and it reports over 300 registry errors. It will always fix all but 228 of them. What's up with that? The machine runs OK but this just bugs me. Should I be concerned? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't use, or trust, registry cleaning and optimizing programs.

Let me guess, it will remove the rest if you send them money. I wouldn't trust the program. You could check for the same errors using Ccleaner and it's free. CAUTION should be use any time you mess around with the registry.
Something I do after a fresh install. Install all Windows updates and then defrag using Windows built in defragger.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the replies and useful info. I'm going to format and install again, update the OS then leave it alone. I'm new to Windows 7 and am still learning. Best regards.

I wouldn't be concerned with registry errors unless they are affecting Windows or your programs. After several incarnations of Windows, it's pretty normal to have errors. I don't even bother to run registry cleaners anymore.

+2 on all the above comments about Registry Cleaner's.
Windows 7 does a great job in handling registry problems so STAY AWAY FROM ANY AND ALL REGISTRY CLEANER'S!

Right, but we always seem to have new customers for this subject.

    WHS,
Totally agree with your statement about new customers.
I was one of them years ago asking the same types of questions.
Now, everyone ignores me thinking I am having a Senor Moment!
