have you tried 'F2' ?
I've dealt with several vaio's and they do like to move the button around. F2 seems the most common. It's never del though which is what would be considered normal. ...and I've never heard of one being completely locked out. It's possible the person that said that just couldn't for the life of them figure out fn + pause or whatever strange key combination was used. There's pretty much always a way in.

okay we're getting closer apparently.
If it's that config 'esc' should be the key that will bring up the setup option menu.

Install Windows 7 from USB Pen Drive Using Grub4Dos

it will take a little doing, you're going to have to make the pen drive into a windows installation bootable media.
The instructions are there and if you take the time to read it over you shouldn't have any trouble.

Backup Screen options/info screen blank; Error (0x80070422)

Blank Screen, No Bios Screen, Win 7 boots fine, Now What?
Hi I'm getting a blank screen when my computer boots up. Not even a Bios screen or anything. But, Win 7 seems to boot up fine in the background. I can hear the welcome chime in the background after a little bit. I was in the process of putting in a new SSD when this happened. Tried to unplug it...

Flicker on win7 initial startup screen
My first build has been problematic to say the least. (at least) one of my two Corsair CMV4GX3M2A1333C9 2GB memory sticks seems faulty as whenever it is in (in any slot - by itself or with the other 2GB stick) it is bsod'ing just after the login screen comes up. Only on cold boot though, when...
