1 wk old pc crashes at random times. Drivers updated + Memtest Done

Good day guys
i have a pc with the following spec:

Case: Cooler Master 690II Advanced
CPU: Intel i7 2600K not overclocked yet
HSF: CM 212+
Mobo: ASROCK Z68 Extreme4
RAM: Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D 8GB (2 x 4GB)
PSU: Silverstone Struder Plus 600W
GPU: Gigabyte 560 ti
SSD: Crucial M4 120GB
HDD: 2 x Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
OS: Win 7 OEM Ultimate 64bit
Age: 1 week old

I have been getting BSOD while playing games e.g. Crysis2 or Bad company2 or streaming video from my external Drive.

I have already:
Temps normal. Idle 41degrees. Playing games not sure. Multitasking about 47-48
BIOS updated
Got latest Drivers from manufacturers websites
Memtest86+ for 14hrs. No faults
windows memory test done with no faults.

Attached is my dumps zip. Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2.rar

Any ideas will be appreciated.
thanks

  • Please don't overclock your system it will just cause more issues I'm assuming that your temperatures are Celsius scale lol.
  • Update the Logitech Gaming HID Filter Driver your mouse is one of the problems in you .dmp files.
  • athrx.sys is another problem which is your Atheros Network Adapter please get the updated driver for this. I know you have stated you got drivers from the manufacturers websites try just going here and installing the ones for your mobo: Z68 Motherboard Series - Download Files form ASRock Inc.

Win 7 Ultimate OEM

Thanks for the reply mate.
I already have the latest drivers from ASROCK website and the NVIDIA website.

I have read something about some sweeper to delete drivers and install the new ones again for NVIDIA. Might have to try it.

Just got rid of Daemon tools pro as per your comment.

Going to run the file you mentioned now.

NOTE-FORGOT about another hardware.
I do have a TPLINK TL-WN851ND wifi pci card. When installing driver for it i had to click continue anyway.

System NOT overclocked at the moment. It is on my to do list once system is stable.
thanks for your response and hope your suggestions will help me
cheers

Just don't overclock too much. Your CPU is capable at 4.0Ghz however the life of it being at that will be considerably shorter than at 3.6Ghz And always keep it cool or that will bring you more crashes

Daemon tools does seem to be the problem found in the Analysis above

thanks mate.
just had another crash as i uninstalled drivers in safemode and rebooted to normal mode.
here is the link to dump file.

Can i ask what program are you guys using to view my problems in detail.

As for overclock what do you think might be safe.
I got 2 intake fans at the font. 1 sucking air and cooling GPU and another on other side of case cooling the heatsink side of motherboard. But thats not my concern at this stage

We use a program called Windbg from Microsoft however they require Symbols to work so I wouldn't advise you try to follow unless you are 100% sure you want to

I am currently analysing your latest dump. As for the CPU i think it is best if we do one thing at a time if you don't mind

STOP 0x0000001E: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Usual causes: Device driver, hardware, System service, compatibility, Remote control programs, memory, BIOS

How long has this been happening? Did it happen as soon as you got the computer or was there a piece or hardware or software you installed that caused this issue?

Could you also try a clean boot to see if any Third party software is causing this problem - Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program

Plus Update your Anti-Virus and then run a full scan

And all your drivers are up to date but I haven't had a full check yet so we might need to use a driver verifier

Win 7 Ultimate OEM

Thanks Shadowjk

Not sure how long I have been having the problem. The PC is just under 2 weeks old and have had that problem from day 1.

I am running Microsoft Essentials. Did a full scan and no problems.

Run the clean startup. I will try that in a while.

As for the athrx.sys, there is only 1 LAN driver on the ASROCK website. Not sure if thats the one. Can someone check. I got the Lan driver ver:14.6.4.2
ASRock > Products > Motherboard > Z68 Extreme4 > Download

Could the TPLINK TL-WN851ND wifi pci card be causing the athrx.sys problem as well?
