    Windows Explorer has stopped working

Hey guys, need help. First sorry for my English... Im running Windows 7 ultimate. When Im trying to use my Bluetooth (via bluetooth adapter ASUS) I get error "Windows Explorer has stopped working". It appears even if Im just clicking in control panel (no matter where, just clicking from one folder to the other...) then it is trying to find solution and then just restarts.... any idea?

    Elax Hi and welcome

    There are two possiblities.

First can you type event viewer in search. go to the windows Logs>applications tab. You are going to be looking for errors (they have red in the left column) that relate to app hang, app crash, or DEP. there will be a lot so it might pay for you to wait untill the next time it happens to check it out. When you find the mostly candidate not the Event ID and source codes and tell us what they are.

    Next

go to system conrol panel>advanced system settibgs>peerformance> DEP. Dep or data Execution Prevention is used to prevent virii and other things from launching exe's in restriced memory space. teh default setting is for MS apps only (not for all apps) thell us what it is currently set to

    Thanks

Are you using any web browser like Firefox 3.5? if so then try uninstall and clean it up complete then install Fx 3.0.15 as I found the problems was Fx 3.5 whch included private browsing mode that may cause crashing with Win 7 Explorer.exe - I already got same problems but removed Fx 3.5 and install then 3.0.15 that worked fine - see other forum at this section as peopl already got the same as well.

when I used Fx 3.5 and got lots of crashing when click right button but removed it - it worked prefect, Ive emailed to Mozilla already.

explorer has stopped working in win 7

This has happened many times to me. I noticed that windows defender was running at the same time as Avast antivirus which I use. When I disabled windows defender the problem stopped.

Lucky098, just wanted to THANK YOU for the tip about FF. I'm on a Win7 x64 PC. Windows Explorer crashed randomly and often. I read your post and then decided to stop using FF's private browsing. Ever since then, I've had no problems with Windows Explorer. THANK YOU!

    Wrong approach.

Update your Avast or better yet, uninstall Avast and use Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) link in my sig.

MSE is the only anti-virus I use, I install, I recommend.
