BSOD while gaming or netflix streaming, multiple errors

I have been getting the BSOD for a while now. I've tried searching for ideas for a few weeks and have had no luck. I recently started playing Black Prophecy and started to get the BSOD every time I played. I also get it when streaming Netflix. I tried to make sure my drivers were up to date but I am probably missing some.

Ran memtest86+ overnight for 12 full passes and 1 90% pass. 0 errors.

Here is a list of the errors this month:
9/19 - PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
9/19 - SPECIAL_POOL_DETECTED_MEMORY_CORRUPTION
9/17 - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
9/16 - KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
9/14 - SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (twice)
9/12 - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
9/8 - PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
9/8 - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt

Majority of these caused by a year old AVG, and BitLocker Driver Encryption Driver

I would remove AVG and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials. Make sure you deal with bit locker first.

Download tools and utilities | AVG Worldwide

Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

Thank you zigzag3143!

I uninstalled AVG and installed MSE late last week.

I just ran the AVG remover from the link you provided. It seemed to work fine.

I do not have BitLocker enabled.

What should I check for next?

The most recent few were related to the netgear wirelss driver (WNDA31w7x.sys). I would re-install using the newest driver available. Yours from 2009.

I have the latest driver according to Netgear. Not sure what to do here.

I just rechecked your DMP's and you do have Bitlocker enabled. (fvevol.sys) and it is blamed for several of the crashes.

If that is the newest driver I think it might help to re-install it in "compatibility mode.
(right click the installer>properties>compatibility> chose OS (vista?)

I was under the impression Bitlocker was not available in Win 7 Pro. I do not have anything in Control Panel about it. I have no idea how it is getting used or how to disable. I've been reading the MS websites and trying to figure out how to disable it but they all say to go through control panel and it does not show up for me. Not sure how to continue on this part. Can I just delete the file?

I decided to try running an ethernet cable to my PC instead of wireless. I will try re-installing the wireless in compat mode if I ever want to try it again. Thanks.

I've had 3 more BSOD today. I've attached them. The first one looked like a graphics card driver issue so I rebooted into safe mode and uninstalled all the previous versions of the driver until it showed up as a generic video card and not the GeForce GTX 470. I rebooted and installed the latest version of the drivers from the nVidia.

I couldn't figure out what the other two were. I am running MSE full scan right now to see if it could be anything malware/virus since I only did a quick scan after installing MSE.

If you could check out my latest dmp files I would appreciate it. Thanks.

These were related to a memory exception. Either RAM or a driver. Please run these two tests to find which

1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

2-Driver verifier

Quote:
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

I ran memtest before on both sticks with 12 passes and 0 errors.
I reran memtest with each stick. The first stick went 21 passes with 0 errors. The second stick went 25 passes with 0 errors. The only thing I noticed was the second stick speed did not show up correctly. It showed up as 200MHz DDR400, when my RAM is DDR3-1333 (PC3 10666).

I am currently running with driver verifier enabled but have not yet ran into anything. I still have not yet put back in the second stick of RAM. Maybe that could have something to do with why I haven't BSOD again. I played Black Prophecy again without any BSOD.
