    Bluescreen BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER Error

    Hello,

For the past 6 months I've been getting blue screen saying"BUGCODE_USB_DRIVE". It started after I used a wireless HP mouse. I am using Sony Vaio laptop 64bit VPCEA21FD.

    I am attaching dump folder.

    I'm a bit confused here.
I'm seeing the whole usb hub freezing up.
With usb video devices and all kinds of things flying up and locking as the system crashes.
Could you tell us what other external devices are plugged into this laptop, if any?

Meanwhile it can't hurt to run to sony and reinstall the motherboard and chipset drivers for your laptop. Something is just plain wrong here.
I am also going to suggest running a secure file check on windows. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Code:
    Unloaded modules:

Does the external have it's own power supply or does it just run off the usb?
It is possible you are simply overtaxing the power supplied to the usbhub.

No, it uses power from usb...also, I use this hard drive only once a week or so.....it's not connected to my laptop 24x7...

I would say you may want to try only using one of the two at a time.
Laptops generally don't have much in the way of power supply to begin with.
Since I see nothing in the driver or memory trace I can really only look to a power issue.
