Bsod irql_not_less_or_equal

Hello,

I built my system about 18 months ago, and even then I would get a decent (maybe 2-4 a week) amount of BSOD...usually when launching a program/game. Tried a few times with WinDBG but gave up.

Lived with it for a while, but very recently decided to upgrade my system.
New PSU, new video card, new SSD for booting, and even got new SATA cables (why not...thought it might have been that easy)...wanted upgrades anyway but also hoping this might fix it.

Also worth pointing out, before upgrade was running a dual-boot Windows/Mac OS (2 boot drives)...and the Mac side NEVER had any issues...but for various reasons with this upgrade decided to 100% abandon the Mac and stick with just a Windows boot.

Knowing the issues I've had in the past, I kept installs VERY minimal (firefox, utorrent, avast, drivers), put them all on the SSD boot drive, with exception being iTunes on 2nd hard drive and Steam games on 3rd (but didn't reinstall program yet).

It would work fine for a bit (maybe a few hours) but then continued to get BSOD...in middle of booting, right after booting, and when I just browsing the web or listening to music.

Did all normal things I could thing of...took it apart, put everything back in, MemTest86+, updated SSD firmwear...and did a 100% fresh reinstall of Windows. Worked fine for a day, then today BSOD...trying to reboot afterwards did auto CHKDSK, fixed a bunch of stuff...and then kept trying to boot but kept crashing and restarting (happened several times). I turned it off, unplugged the 2 storage drives, and it booted and I am typing from it now.

I am at a loss. Please help. Thanks.

Windows Ultimate 7 x64 (clean reinstall 48 hours ago)

Thanks for the fast reply.

I updated bios and Ethernet drivers.

Than ran Prime95 for quite a while (while sleeping and while at work)
Small FFTs 2 hours
In-place large FFTs 7.5 hours
Blend 10.5 hours
All 0 errors & 0 warnings with Speed Fan CPU temp not going above mid-60s Celsius.

Guess I will just try to use it normal and see what happens.

If I get more crashes, could I attach the reports here or should I start a new post referencing this one.

Hello, me again.

So my BSOD have not gone away. Few days after my last post started getting a lot more crashes, then gave up on this computer for a couple weeks, and yesterday decided to try again (my point being the gap in dumps from 9/29-10/19 is because I stopped using this computer, not because it was working).

Yesterday ran all Prime95 tests again for hours and hours...everything was fine. Then today I boot-up and walk into kitchen and come back to crash after crash until it wants to do a Windows Recovery. All the hardware is NEW except mobo/cpu...I am at the point of just wanting upgrading them, but wanted to give it fixing it one last try before I spend the money.

Please any help or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!!

EDIT: Realized the Realtek ethernet drivers I updated from last time may not show up in the attached, because few weeks ago my computer went back to a restore point...so if that comes it I DID update those drivers, but the computer un-updated it.

What is the Drive E iTunes was trying to access? I see no E drive in MSINFO32, so I'm guessing it's either an external hard drive or another drive that you since removed?

If I'm right on that assumption, have you had any BSODs while that drive has not been attached?

The only thing I can recommend is a manual memory troubleshooting session. Remove all but one stick of RAM and use just the one for a while. If you get another BSOD, try using just one other stick instead and see if BSODs persist.

Do update that Realtek ethernet driver again. It may not have been the cause of the BSODs, but it does seem to be causing other issues.
