Ok, here is how my BSOD all started, Was installing ubuntu so I could dual boot between Windows 7 and Ubuntu but when it was all said and doneays now I rebooted and got the BSOD, Am unabe to access windows. I used the bootrec command with no Prevail for 2 days now been trying to get Windows 7 back. I loved it but could not leave well enough alone. No matter what I read and done i still get the bsod with a bsd error boot sector problem. I gave up on trying to restore it and decided to remove the drive to my old acer laptop and installed Windows xp and it worked fine on the acer. Once it was installed and tested and seem to be OK I put it back in My Newr Compaq presario laptop and got the same screen and unable to access windows. When I first put it in my acer it also showed the blue screen. I said to myself then That it must be a bad harddrive. But why did it work fine in the acer with xp? Can I have a bad bios and do I need to update the bios or what. Any help would be great.
