Took 1 stick of RAM out and been stress testing with multiple browsers open, MSE doing a full scan, Outlook open and Memtest running for past 3 1/2 hours and so far no crashes. Hoping I may have sorted it. RAM is Kingston kVR667D2S5/1G 1.8V.

Seems to have fixed it. All programs reinstalled and machine seems to be running fine. RAM has a lifetime warranty so ned to follow this up and get a new stick.

Learnt heaps from this exercise, thanks for taking an interest and for your assistance. I will report back if the problem resurfaces.

Cheers

All good overnight. No further crashes so out of interest this morning I placed the presumed faulty stick of RAM in another Toshiba laptop of mine and booted it up. Windows started normally and then about 30 seconds later...........................CRASH!!!!......BSOD!!!

Problem definitely solved I figure.
