Try doing it again. Does it crash? the BSOD is not necessarily caused by what you are doing at the time.

For the past 1 day , it occurred at random period. All of them occurred when i happened to browse control panel.

In my background , i'm running firefox and MSN. I just installed AVG as well.

Hmm , I have no idea what went wrong because everything was like so smooth except this issue.

This isn't really relevant, but it was so funny that I had to post it.

While reading this, Windows Explorer crashed on me also. I swear, this topic is jinxed!

Could you go into event viewer (type event viewer in search) and see if there are errors related to this in the application tab? If so tell us\

I've got a control panel that causes a "process to stop running" every time I open it.

In my case it was from installing a piece of hardware using a driver that was not Windows 7 specific. I don't know which one yet as I haven't reinstalled 7 to find out.

Seems probably that one of the control panel items is faulty. Though it's not as easy as just removing the icons one by one like upi might for any mnormal folder. You MIGHT be able to go rename each of the .cpl files one by one (though they don't actually have to have a .cpl extension)

Or.. the way to realy tell is to do a fresh 7 install and then install each piece of hardware one by one. Unless it does it right out of a fresh install.

Is it DUI70.dll each time? I am trying to focus on your particular issue.
