Blue Screen Problems (multiple) - latest: REFERENCE_BY_POINTER

    Hello,

I have been having multiple Blue Screen crash problems. The last one was BAD_POOL_HEADER and the latest one (a few minutes ago) was REFERENCE_BY_POINTER.

I thought it was to do with my Bluetooth drivers but I fixed those and it's still happening.

Here is a copy of the latest error message after Windows restarted:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 2057

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 18
    BCP1: FFFFFA8003CDFB40
    BCP2: FFFFFA80041B4780
    BCP3: 0000000000000001
    BCP4: 0000000000040000
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\100711-50887-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Anne Byrne\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-78031-0.sysdata.xml

    Can anyone help me please?

    Thanks,

    Adam.

    Windows 7 information:

It is a 64 bit operating system.

Windows 7 IS the original OS on my system.

It came pre-installed on the system

It was purchased with the laptop (Sony Vaio) in spring 2010

I have not re-installed the OS so it also dates from spring 2010

    Thank you, Adam.

    Hello again panais,

I always update my Norton on a daily basis. I ran the other scan for drivers and it says that 12 are out of date but I tried to manually update some of them in Device Manager by Right Clicking and selecting Update Driver Software and it said they were the latest up to date drivers. Otherwise it wants me to pay to update the 12, some of which are supposedly 2 years out of date when the laptop is only 1 and a half years old.

    Thanks for your help,

    Adam.

There is no need to pay anything for drivers update.

Your can use your Sony Vaio software\driver updater.

Also you can follow this tutorial,

Best way to update drivers for free?

    For example,

mdmxsdk.sys is Conexant Modem Diagnostic Interface x86 Driver
Find it and update it from here Conexant: Support

Search\check in Driver Reference and also in google.

    Read,search,act :)

Crashed again when I was updating Vaio. This time I got BAD_POOL_HEADER. I'm about to throw the laptop out the window, haha!
