BSOD when playing with wired 360 controller, recent problems

Recently my 360 controller has been acting up. I was playing FIFA 12 with it and suddenly I got a BSOD. Then after rebooting I plugged it in and the lights were flashing and constantly disconnecting. After playing with it in this shitty state for only 5 minutes it gave me another BSOD.

YOu can find my specs in my profile.

It's the OS it came with, full retail.

You need to update the software\driver for your XBox USB wireless controller.

The driver is 2 years old.

    Also update these old drivers
    Code:

I've updated my drivers via the official site, it worked out great! I don't think my 360 controller will cause any BSOD's now, thanks.

Now I've got another problem though, but I doubt I should ask it here. It doesn't have anything to do with Windows 7.
