Reboot loop during "Preparing to configure Windows" - Can't safe mode
Hello,
I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop, completely stock with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed.
Windows has recently installed some updates and when it rebooted it showed the "Preparing to configure Windows - Do not turn off your computer" Same as this but after about 10-20 seconds it automatically reboots.
I left it alone and watched it complete this cycle 5 times before I decided it's not going to fix itself!
I have tried booting with everything attached (keyboard, extHDD, mouse) and also with nothing attached.
I have tried using a recovery disc to "repair" but it found no problems, ideally I would just do a repair-install of windows but as it seems that requires me to actually be in windows it's of no use! I have also tried to boot into safe mode but it still tries to configure windows then reboots.
It's my university work laptop so I'm hesitant to do a "replace" install of windows as I am currently unable to back up everything and for obvious reasons I don't want to lose it!
Another thing is I have ESET NOD32 installed, always up to date. I have never had any troubles before though.
Any help is very welcome! Thanks for looking!
