Reasonable explanation for crashes?

Any of the OCZ memory worked fine in the first 2 slots; none worked well and consistently in the other slots. There was some sort of incompatibility with the motherboard rather than failing memory.

    That was my suspicion at first, but I could only get 1 slot to work. That's why I sent the motherboard back to ASUS first. They can test all the components, and when it passed, the only thing that could be wrong was the memory.

    ASUS once tested and cleared a striker extreme board for me
    It came back unable to post with 6 different configurations of hardware connected to it.

    They are pretty stubborn about admitting their hardware is at fault.
