Random BSOD on HTPC

I have a problem that's been driving me crazy, it probably dates back a year now and I am unable to fix it. I have reinstalled the OS numerous times over the past 3 years. I now have a fresh install about one month old. The newest piece of hardware I installed was the capture card which is about 6 months old, then the video card which is about a year old. I have had problems with my hard drives suddenly not reading (has happened 2x in the past 6 months). The hard drives all check out using SeaTools for DOS. I am inclined to believe I have a failing motherboard, perhaps the SATA connectors on it, but I would like to be sure before replacing it as it is only a few years old. Sometimes the computer runs for months without problems then I go for a week and get a bunch of blue screens. The last time I reinstalled the OS it blue screened right after the installation was complete and I believe before I installed any drivers. I am not 100% sure on that, but close. I sure would appreciate any advice before I replace a perfectly good motherboard.
