Windows 7: Frequent BSODs, various errors

Frequent BSODs, various errors

Hello there,

I've been plagued by blue screens the last 6 months. Possible causes may be the hard disc crash I had back then, the new hard discs that I installed, the fresh windows 7 installation or maybe even something totally different. However, I don't know how to tackle this problem.

Today I just got 2 of those in quick succession (5 minutes). I'm so frustrated right now. If anyone is able to help me with:
  • analyzing my dumps,
  • learning me how to analyze them myself,
  • coming up with a solution
  • or something else
, I would be so thankful.

I included the 2 latest dumps, have over 20 others in case you need more data.

Thanks in advance,

Skyeam

The problem seems to be your logitech mouse driver.
I would hop on over to logitech's website and look for updates to the software/driver there.

Thank you very much for that analysis! I updated my driver like you said. However, this is the first time it's caused by 'mouclass.sys' so I'm not sure it's always the cause of the BSODs. I've also had 'tcpip.sys' and various others. I'll report back later or when I get another BSOD to confirm whether or not the problem is solved.

Also, I read the post that showed what to include, so I ran all those programs. The results are included in this post.

Many thanks,

Skyeam

I'll keep that in mind, everything was human interface device or mouse related though (same thing really) and the dump wasn't reading the mouse driver correctly so it seems like kind of a open and shut case from that information.
If you have any additional problems just post back and I'll go over the other information.

Well, it wasn't the old mouse driver (unless the new one got the same problem). Got another blue screen. Included the minidump, if you could be so kind?

Thanks

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.

Hi -

Several drivers were named as probable causes of the 30 BSODs.

tcpip.sys was likely named because of your outdated Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver yk62x64.sys, which was also named. It needs to be updated - too old for Windows 7 x64 SP1 -
Code:
yk62x64.sys Mon Sep 28 04:19:31 2009 (4AC07193)
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#yk62x64.sys

More troublesome is seeing Unknown_Module and ???????????? = OS Corruption occuring. These should be actual driver names -
Code:
Unloaded modules:
00000001`00000001 00000001`00000001 Unknown_Module_00000001`00000001
Timestamp: unavailable (00000000)
Checksum: 00000000
00000002`00000004 00000002`fffff881 Unknown_Module_00000002`00000004
Timestamp: unavailable (00000000)
Checksum: 00000000
Missing image name, possible paged-out or corrupt data.
00000023`00000300 00000024`00000032 Unknown_Module_00000023`00000300
Timestamp: unavailable (00000000)
Checksum: 00000000

Timestamp: unavailable (00000000)
Checksum: 00000000
002d5190`08d9ee20 002d5191`00000001 ????????????
Timestamp: unavailable (00000000)
Checksum: 00000000
00000001`002d5190 00000002`00000002 Unknown_Module_00000001`002d5190
Timestamp: unavailable (00000000)
Checksum: 00000000
Hardware failure such as RAM is one likely cause; however, I noticed this 2005 Asus ATK0110 driver in the dumps, which can cause system instability and the mess (unknown module) seen above.

Asus ATK0110 needs to be updated ASAP -
Code:
ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005 (42476C4C) - Asus ATK0110
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#ASACPI.sys

Daemon Tools/ Alcohol 120 driver may be a contributing factor as well -
Code:
sptd.sys Sun Oct 11 16:55:14 2009 (4AD24632) - Daemon Tools/ Alcohol 120
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#sptd.sys

Logitech drivers - need updates -
Code:
L8042Kbd.sys Wed Jun 17 12:50:43 2009 (4A391EE3)
LEqdUsb.Sys Wed Jun 17 12:49:54 2009 (4A391EB2)
LHidEqd.Sys Wed Jun 17 12:49:56 2009 (4A391EB4)
LHidFilt.Sys Wed Jun 17 12:49:39 2009 (4A391EA3)
LMouFilt.Sys Wed Jun 17 12:49:43 2009 (4A391EA7)
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#LEqdUsb.Sys
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#LHidEqd.Sys
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#LHidFilt.Sys
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#LMouFilt.Sys
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#L8042Kbd.sys

ATI Video was named as probable cause as well. See if driver update is available for your ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series card -
Code:
atikmdag.sys Tue Apr 19 21:53:29 2011 (4DAE3C99)
atikmpag.sys Tue Apr 19 21:22:32 2011 (4DAE3558)
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#atikmpag.sys

Update Asus ATK0110 first. Reboot upon completion.

Remove Daemon/Alcohol. Reboot upon completion.

Update the remaining drivers, then see if the system stabalizes.

I followed the advice of Maguscreed and installed the latest catalyst control center. When I came back to report I found out about jcgriff2's post. I followed those instructions. I installed the following:

ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit
File Size 119,88 (KBytes) 2009.12.07 update

After I rebooted I installed the newest daemon tools (didn't remove it). Rebooted again. Afterwards I installed the newest Marvel Yukon drivers. My video card and logitech mouse were already updated so I didn't do these again.

Haven't had a blue screen since yesterday, but sometimes the computer would run weeks without crashing. I'll keep this thread bookmarked so I can report back if I get more problems. I'll give it a couple weeks to make sure the problem is gone.

I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, I really feel like those solutions may help restoring my computer to it's former glory. Thank you both!

You're welcome.

Hopefully your BSOD-free status will continue!

Sadly, I got another BSOD today. I included the dump file.
