Hi Martin, this sounds like a Windows issue as opposed to a GPU issue. After installing Windows please make sure you install the chipset drivers for the motherboard. Also get your drivers from AMD's website, don't use the Windows Update version since they generally lack other features a full feature set from the manufacturer may have, also the manufacturer may have newer improved drivers.

BTW we need to know your full system specs be be of more help.

    Thanks.

    Thank you Sygnus,

yes, i tried this solution too, i installed drivers for chipset and for hdd, i dont install audio driver-because i use another sound card. But i will try to install this drivers too-to eliminate this possibly solution.
btw: my configuration is core 2duo E8400, asus P5B, Emu 1212m sound card, Ati 5770, 4gb ram, two HDDs,

P.s i tried also to install net framework c++ redistributable direct x and some updates for win before installation ati drivers..

I think your issue needs to have it's own thread as this one doesn't sound like a video card issue, but a rather a driver or Windows issue outside the video card.

And yeah, you do need to install the drivers for the soundcard, which could cause problems if they aren't installed.

Anyway start you own thread in the general section and we'll go from there. Scratch that you're in the right section, you just need to create your own thread.

    Thanks.
my on-board sound card is disabled, that the reason, why i don't install windows drivers from MB manufacturer-Asus

Does it boot correctly in safe mode (F8)?

I recently had a similar issue. If you boot up to the background wallpaper with nothing showing except the mouse try this.

Right click/screen resolution. Check that your monitor is being picked up properly.

I recently had the same problem with nvidia drivers, try hitting f8 to go to safe mode prompt and choose to start in low res mode. After booting you can change your resolution. Helped my problem, hope it helps you.

CyriniShadow: thank you, but there is no problem with resolution, the problem is that explorer doeas't load correctly, no taskbar, no task manager. it hangs on wallpaper
