    probably wlan driver causing BSOD on sleep/hibernate


    Dear all,

    I am running Win 7 x64 at my notebook Acer 5820TG (i5 430M, ATI Mobility Radeon 5650, 4GB RAM, 640 GB HDD). On a different forum someone checked my crash dumps and figured out that my BSODs are being caused by my Broadcom wireless driver (BCM43225). Basically, I get a BSOD whenever I put the computer to sleep/hibernate. NTB is trying for around 10 minutes go to the sleep/hibernate mode but after this time BSOD appears.

    I have tried a few different versions of my broadcom driver. Regardless, I still get a BSOD error. I have been using Windows 7 for over a year, and this only started happening on my last update of my notebook (SP1, VGA drivers, ...). Do you know any solution how to solve this problem?

    This sisngle DMP file does not point to your broadcom driver. It does say that "a" driver is causing an inconsistent power state but points to PCI.sys.

    I would do two things

    First remove sptd.sys


    Please remove any CD visualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

    They use a driver, found in your dmp, called sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

    Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads DuplexSecure - FAQ

    when you're done you can use this Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) in its place.

    Second since an OS file is suspect run a system file check t o verify and repair you os files.

    Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
    To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
    SFC /SCANNOW

    It may need to be run up to three times before sucessful

    How To Find Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    Thank you zigzag3143 for your suggestions. I have removed Daemon Tools and used SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure, then I have used 3 times command SFC/SCANNOW (didnt find any problem with integrity of the system) but the problem still persist.

    I have attached new minidump file.

    Still pointing to pci.sys Does the problem persist in safe mode (F8)?

Hey, I've got a new ASUS gaming laptop with W7 64-bit OEM and I've been getting a few BSOD errors while bringing my laptop out of sleep/hibernate. Its not always but its often enough to be a nuisance. My drivers are all up to date so I'm really confused as to what can be causing this, any help...

hi all! when my windows 7 (64bit) wakes up after standby it does not connect to the wlan network anymore. only if i hit disconnect/reconnect i can be online again. any ideas? thanks for reading markus
