    BSOD: IRQL_GT_Zero_At_System_Service

It seems I've randomly received this BSOD ever since installing W7x64. It will happen either multiple times during the day or I'll go several days without anything happening at all.

When it occurs, it's *usually* shortly after I click a link while surfing through Firefox. It's happened with version 5x 6x and 7x. But sometimes it will happen while using Word 2003, Photoshop CS3, Libre Office 3. Although I'm pretty sure Firefox is always running in the background when using those apps.

Usually I'll get the BSOD, other times my screen will be come non responsive although my mouse will continue to move for a few seconds until it too stops responding. This can be real frustrating as you can imagine.

This morning it happened while I was logging into Google/Gmail to post a question on the Mozilla Messaging board.

    Running W7x64.
Hardware is all new and relatively recent.
OS install has been running since June and I've been experiencing these crashes all along these months, just finally gotten sick of it.

Can anyone help? The BSOD is *always* IRQL_GT_Zero_At_System_Service.
    Thanks so much!

Here are some of the details I've gathered post crash on multiple occasions....

    Hello toasty and welcome.

    Device Driver

The bug-code IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE usually indicates Device Driver. Do you have all your drivers up to date for your USB-plugged devices? Also plug out unnecessary devices.

    Code:
    IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE (4a)
Returning to usermode from a system call at an IRQL > PASSIVE_LEVEL.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000073e62dd9, Address of system function (system call routine)
    Arg2: 0000000000000002, Current IRQL
    Arg3: 0000000000000000, 0
    Arg4: fffff8800d4adca0, 0
    Update this driver

I saw in the Module Driver List, that you had a Wacom tablet, and it's from 2007. I saw a couple of BSOD causing that tablet. Try unplugging it and uninstall the driver. Or get a new one.

    Code:
    4: kd> lmvm wacommousefilter
    start end module name
    fffff880`08f13000 fffff880`08f1b000 wacommousefilter (deferred)
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\wacommousefilter.sys
        Image name: wacommousefilter.sys
        Timestamp: Fri Feb 16 19:12:17 2007 (45D5F401)
        CheckSum: 00005ACE
        ImageSize: 00008000
        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
    Thank you for your attention.
    Fred.
