Security Account Manager Service crashes explorer.exe

Hi.

I am hoping someone can help me with my problem on Win 7 64bit SP1

Whenever I rebooted my PC explorer would crash within a couple of seconds of the desktop showing.

I was pulling my hair out as I had just deleted a corrupt recycle bin off my D drive and at the same time I had changed some settings on my network card. I thought the network card was the culprit so I booted up into safe mode (which works fine) and changed the settings back, then uninstalled the driver, disabled the card in BIOS and eventually reinstalled fresh drivers but it was still the same.

I then went through disabling my services and I found that if I disable security account manager the PC boots fine however as I use this PC as a HTPC and back up for files I can not access it from my laptop with it disabled

I have done loads of searching on google but have come up with nothing. SFC /scannow will find problems but never fix them all.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
