We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.
The procedure:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:
*Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl Press Enter.
*Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery - Settings... button.
*Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
*Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kb) in the drop down box (the 256kb varies).
*Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
*OK.
Reboot if changes have been made. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number LAPTOP. HP Pavilion dv7-4010TX . OS Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. SP1. Start by updating Windows. If your build shows "7600" in System Info, you're seriously behind in critical updates. And stop running registry "fixes".
Follow these instructions if the BSOD occurs again: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built 2/11/2011 OS Windows 7 Pro-x64 CPU i7-2600 3.4GHz - 3.8GHz Turbo Motherboard Intel DH67BL-B3 Memory 8Gb - 2x4GB, Muskin 991770 PC3-1333 Graphics Card Integrated Intel HD 2000 Sound Card Integrated Intel 10.1 HD, RealTek ALC892 Monitor(s) Displays Asus LCD VH222H, Haier HL24XSL2a Screen Resolution 1920x1080, 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech EX100 Wireless Mouse Logitech EX100 Wireless PSU Seasonic 650W 80+ Gold Modular Case Rosewill Defender Cooling Stock CPU, Four 120mm case fans, PCH fan added Hard Drives Crucial C300-128Gb,

Three problems you need to attend to. 1-ASACPI.SYS
The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUS teK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.SYS file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005). 2-Old drivers Code: ASACPI.sys 3/28/2005 1:30:36 PM fffff880`053f4000 fffff300`053fc000 0xfffffa8000008000 0x42476c4c
ElRawDsk.sys 7/27/2008 4:59:09 AM fffff880`0105c000 fffff300`01066000 0xfffffa800000a000 0x488b65ed
L1C62x64.sys 4/1/2009 4:09:17 PM fffff880`053d7000 fffff300`053e9000 0xfffffa8000012000 0x49d2f6fd How To Find Drivers: Quote: - search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program. - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads 3-Your Avast
Avast is blamed for the probable cause of these crashes.
Please remove & replace with Microsoft Security Essentials http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number LAPTOP. I uninstalled Avast
Downloaded ASACPI.sys driver
ElRawDsk.sys driver says I had to get an evaluation key for it to function and it says on the website for developers only http://www.eldos.com/rawdisk/download-release.php
I couldn't find the drivers for ElRawDsk.sys and L1C62x64.sys.
am also still getting bsods.

Other drivers that cant be updated should be removed if not essential The digital signature for asacpi.sys said 2008-2009, when I checked. Also the computer now freezes and I can't move the mouse and after I shutdown and click the power button the screen stays black. The screen also sometimes just goes black while am using teh computer and sometimes the computer shuts down it self.
I greatly hate this computer | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus OS Microsoft Windows 7 (build 7600), 64-bit CPU 3.4 GHz Motherboard AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor Memory 931 GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series Sound Card AMD High Definition Audio Device Monitor(s) Displays Acer Screen Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard USB Mouse USB Cooling Fans Hard Drives 931 Internet Speed 1 mbps |
