Computer BSOD while gaming

So I've had the issue with pretty much any game, and would have a BSOD every couple days, but specifically Skyrim has had very frequent crashes since i just started playing (3 in the first 2-3 hours playing).

Basic information:
  • Custom built
  • AMD Phenom II X6 1055T processor
  • AMD Radeon HD 6870 video card
  • 8Gig RAM
  • 80Gig SSD
  • Windows Ultimate x64
I have reinstalled the OS recently. Made no difference.

Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

These 3 were Related to dtsoftbus01.sys Virtual Bus Driver from DT Soft Ltd. I would remove it.

I will do that today after I get home from work. However, there were about 4-5 bsods yesterday, and only 2 had minidump files. Is that relevant?

Additionally, I ran memtest overnight and it found some errors. I attached a screenshot because I'm not sure how to interpret it. Not sure which stick or slot is having the issues. I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at it.

Thank you.

No DMP's sometimes are not created if the memory itself fails

No need for the screenshot. That many errors means a memory problem, or mobo problem.

You should now test each memory stick individually and when you find a good one use it to test each mobo slot.

Well this will be a big pain in the ass. Thanks for the help, I'll work on testing the memory/slots over the next couple days or so and report back. Really hope its the memory and not the motherboard.

Thanks.

Well turns out I only had 2 4GB sticks so it was a bit easier. The test overnight failed on the same test/point each pass pretty much, so i turned on tests 7 and 8 and ran them against each stick, in the same slot, for a decent amount of time. One of them threw the same error right away almost, the other didn't for an hour and a half of run time, so pretty sure its just that one defective stick of ram. I'll test it more intensively later. Good news is that I have a birthday coming up and a lack of ideas for people to get me, so now I can ask for more RAM i guess.

Thanks.
