BSOD Locale: 2057

Hi, I am having recurring problems with my pc, particularly BSOD Locale 2057. I tried using the diagnostics utility and perfmon to determine the problem, but neither can finish their processes before the system crashes again. I've saved a couple of the crash reports, though, and hope someone can shed some light on the situation.

We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Hi, here is the minidump folder, containing the last 4 dumps. I hope this helps.

Now we are getting somewhere. Two problems

1-ASACPI.SYS

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Please visit this link: ASUS teK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE

Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.SYS file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOTbefore).

2-Your Avast

Please remove and replace your Avast with Microsoft Security Essentials

Thanks for the swift response.

I've done as you suggested, and the driver has gone from being date stamped 2005 to 2011. Now we play the waiting game, and hope no more of this behaviour occurs!

Thanks again.

I've gotten rid of Avast, but still getting crashes. Last night I had three or four in a row, before I could get back into windows. Here's the most recent four minidumps.

Hi, long time, no reply. Any advancement on what's wrong with my system? I'm beginning to think it might be my mobo or RAM, maybe I should just replace them both?
