BSOD nvlddmkm.sys error 116. Brand new computer

    Hello all,

I really hope someone here has a solution to my problem I'm having.

My brand new computer is getting the BSOD with the trouble being pointed at error 116 & nvlddmkm.sys. When I turn the computer on it gets to the windows loading bar screen, displays it for about three seconds then the screen goes black for about 10-15 seconds then up comes the BSOD. The computer then restarts itself and the process repeats. The company I bought the computer off of told me the problem lies with DirectX and instructed me to install the latest version, as well as latest VGA drivers, which I did but to no improvment.

After lots of googling and various un-installing & re-installing of drivers I've discovered the computer starts up fine when the drivers for the graphics card are removed, however upon installing the drivers and restarting: BSOD.

I've a tormenting feeling in the back of my head telling me that the graphics card is bad or something. I really do hope this is not the case and I really hope there is a fix avalible. The card I'm using is GTX 580 3GB.

Thanks in advance for any and all help :)

Yes, there is a high probability that you've got a faulty graphics card.
    Test it with OCCT

    Run a RAM test too
