BSOD & Unplanned shutdown. (Kernel power event 41)

I have just upgraded my PC as follows:
    • New clean HDD & installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit (was Vista)
    • Memory increased from 4 to 16Gb.
Initially, all seemed well. (A couple of days) After many Windows updates, I had the start of many unexplained shutdowns & re-starts. On a few occasions, Windows Explorer has quit & restarted, but the PC has stayed on. Most times the PC was being used lightly or idle.
I have run memtest, disk checks etc, but no problems identified. Kernel power event 41 is noted in log.
Any help would be much appreciated!

    Any ideas?

Hi, I would really appreciate a reply to my previous post if anyone has any advice to offer. I have still not solved the problem & don't know what else to try, having contacted most suppliers of the components in my PC! Can anyone advise how to test the power supply?
I have re-fitted the original HDD with Vista 32bit installed, but retaining the new 16Gb memory, and have had no problems in 3 days.
    Thanks for any advice
