Windows 7 Home premium 64bit Crashing/freezing

Hey in the last two days i have noticed that my laptop is crashing and freezing really often, and i would have to hold down the power button down to switch it off, etc. i have used hp support assistant, i dont want to restore factory setting, i want a solution,

The site above is volunteers but they all have HP machines. Chances are many have your model and may have good suggestions. When I signed up it accepted a hotmail address to validate registration. It's free and has downloads and info you can't get anywhere else for HP machines.
