Windows 7: BSOD when trying to run windows update / install driver / install s/w

Hi

I have just built a Windows 7 machine and am having lots of problems

I can't run windows update which outputs error messages - have followed all the fixes for this to no success

I get BSOD constantly whenever I try to do anything

The system is all new apart from the GPX card (full spec below)

AMD Bulldozer FX-4 Quad Core
Asus M5A99x motherboard
8 GB (2x4) Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey DDR3
Sapphire Radeon HD4870 1GB PCIe (moved over from old PC)
1 x OCZ Vertex II Bigfoot 120GB SSD (OS and program drive)
1 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD (file storage only)
Rane TTM57SL USB soundcard
730W BeQuiet PSU

The system is a fresh build yesterday with NOTHING installed on any of the drives apart from:

Motherboard drivers
Windows OS - 7 x64 Ultimate SP1
Windows updates (up to a point - 8 of them can't install)
Serato Scratch Live software and drivers for the TTM57SL
AVG Antivirus Free

I have attached a zip of dump file and report

Any help would be massively appreciated

Two problems

One, your AVG.

I notice your AVG which is often at least a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace your AVG with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Best advice that I've seen about this error (from here: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tml#post356791 )

Thanks for the fast response!

Will take me a while to go through the clock interupt stuff so will get back to thread after the weekend when I've had chance to run some tests

Just and update. I have resigned to this being a hardware conflict with that exact combination of hardware. The BSODs were all over the place and so is beyond me what else it could be.

The vendors were good enough to do me a credit for the AMD stuff so now have an Intel i7 based system and no problems any more
