Constant BODs due to usb driver

My laptop has been getting the BOD several times a day and reboots itself constantly (been going on for over 2 weeks). The Blue Screen always indicates BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER
When I look at the dump files, this is usually indicated
    Caused By Driver : usbhub.sys
    Caused By Address : usbhub.sys+12a60

    Laptop details:
    Windows 7, 64-bit
OEM – I had to do a reinstall of Windows a couple of months ago after the laptop crashed after a Windows service pack 1 installation.
ASUS U50F series, 2 years old

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I have included two different perform reports – one from the night after the computer has been on all day and one from the morning. I’ve noticed that the report is usually different.

    Hi.

Update software\driver for Suyin USB 2.0 Webcam.

If you dont use any more this hardware, then remove the software\driver form your system.

Also check and if you have any other unnecessary usb software\drivers installed, remove them.

    Finish
    and post back.

Sorry, I'm not that computer literate. The Sonix link went to a page that said "requested resource could not be found" and the Suyin link went to a search page. I'm not sure what to enter for that.

Again, sorry for being so thick. I'd be grateful for some additional help - thanks!

Ok, i found your laptop website :)

From here you can update everything in your laptop.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download U50F

From the list, down on the bottom choose camera and download Version V6.5853.22.014 Suyin Camera Driver.

Click that Global button and it will start a download manager, choose where you want to save the file (choose desktop is easy to find it) and let it finish.

Then extract the downloaded folder, click the PNPINST64 and let it instal the software\driver,finish and restart.

    Simple?

Leave it to me to mess up. Thank you for the very clear instructions. I downloaded the zip, extracted the files, clicked on the proper file (PNPINST64), chose install and got an error. I have attached a screenshot of the error message.

Was I supposed to uninstall the original driver first?

LOL - sorry for all the hand holding that I require. Thanks again.

Yes,better remove the old driver first.

Though if you dont use that hardware anymore, just uninstall the software\driver and dont install anything.

Okay thanks. I uninstalled the driver without installing the new one and will see if I have any more BODs. I usually have several a day, so I'll know by tomorrow.

Thanks again for all your help.

    I will report back tomorrow.

Spoke too soon - Windows just automatically installed the driver again.

Is there a way to turn this off?

Go to C:\Windows\system32\drivers, locate this driver sncduvc.SYS and rename it from .sys to .old. Restart and the driver will not load.

Now is sncduvc.SYS do it sncduvc.old

Thanks. I noticed the driver that was installed is a different version than I had on there before. Not sure if it updated to the one in the zip file.

Doesn't matter - never use the webcam anyways.

Thanks for the instructions - much appreciated!
