Windows 7: BSOD when editing content in flash drive

BSOD when editing content in flash drive

I get a blue screen every time I try to edit something in any flash drive. I can copy or delete stuff but I can't rename or copy and paste things into different folders within the flash drive. I'm having Win 7 home premium (upgraded from OEM Vista) with the latest update and patches. I've been having this issue since I upgraded to Win 7 I think. It's like this with every flash drive. Blue screen and then reboot. It happens super fast and I can't really tell what the error message is saying.
When I insert an SD card adapter however, it gets a blue screen instantly and if I don't take it out the system won't be able to boot. I tried startup recover and stuff but they didn't work. It'll boot in safe mode with the SD card in it but it's not showing in my computer. Editing content of a flash drive in safe mode still causes BSOD.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks so much!
